No blame game for Esha Gupta

The gorgeous Esha Gupta grabbed eyeballs for her mean avatar in the recent RUSTOM but it’s the under-production BAADSHAHO will most likely have people sit up and stare! She calls her role a ‘rough and tough’ one, with Ajay Devgn and Emran Hashmi.

And she was selected for it when director Milan Luthria saw her eating! It so happened that it was a Sunday and Esha and her team, who had pitched for a role for her in Milan’s film, were at his house. A very hungry Esha remembers tucking in to her heart’s content. One look at her and Luthria knew he had found his Sanjana for BAADSHAHO!

Esha hasn’t really had it too good in the industry so far. The thought arises that Bollywood hasn’t really been fair to one with her stunning good looks and talent. However, the beauty is without bitterness. Instead she claims to be thankful to a lot of people for believing in her and giving her opportunities despite her being ‘an outsider’. Mukesh Bhatt, who gave her, her first film, Suresh Desai for RUSTOM and Milan Luthria for BAADSHAHO get her heartfelt gratitude for trusting her enough to cast her.

She accepts that while it is necessary to be part of good cinema, time and luck also have a big role to play. This is more so when it comes to someone without strong connections in the industry. With straightforward honesty she points out that when you have nobody to look after you, and you have to pay your rent and pick yourself up after a flop, it can get tough because you cannot afford to sit idle. It’s worse when the best roles don’t come your way either. This is when connections come handy but she is trying to prove that these connections don’t matter. More power to her!
