Rishi Kapoor and Taapsee Pannu have teamed up for the first time and the trailer of their film titled ‘Mulk’ was revealed yesterday. After his terrorist-son is killed in a crossfire with the forces, Kapoor’s entire family is labelled as terrorists who run a terrorist training camp within the premises of their residence in Varanasi. He then takes help from court in order to prove his innocence and defeat the perception towards his religion, which inadvertently causes him to be associated with terror.

Ashutosh Rana plays the prosecution lawyer. A frantic Taapsee makes a solemn promise to clear the family’s name and bring them to justice. Towards the end of the trailer, Rishi Kapoor says an impactful line, “Ye ghar mera bhi utna hi hai jitna aapka hai. Aur agar aap meri daadhi aur Osama Bin Laden ki daadhi mein fark nahi kar sakte to bhi mujhe haq hai meri sunnat nibhaane ka!”

Directed by Anubhav Sinha, ‘Mulk’ is slated to hit the theatres on August 3. It stars Taapsee Pannu, Rishi Kapoor, Prateik Babbar, Manoj Pahwa and Rajat Kapoor in pivotal roles and has been primarily shot in Lucknow and Benares.
