A nonsensical attempt at comedy, this so called ‘last film’ of versatile actor Om Puri is a disgrace to his talent and class. The story is not the only problem here. A family of scrap dealers a.k.a Kabaadis find themselves bequeathed a large fortune. Their Lifestyle may have changed after that but their lack of class is evident even to the prospective brides and grooms for their offspring. Even so, they are willing to hitch on for a ride on the gravy train as long as they believe it’s coming from a string of restaurants and not latrines. The reality though is just the opposite.
First-time feature film director Seema Kapoor fails to find a foothold for telling this story. The mechanics are wayward, the performances are off-putting and the language sounds like it’s coming from a shit hole. The toilet humour employed here is totally abominable and unfunny. There’s not a single elevating moment in this classless and crass offering. While the older lot are loud . loutish and irritating the youngsters Rajeev Singh and Ulka are the only ones giving out pleasant vibes here. You wouldn’t want to be caught dead watching this monstrosity!
