Married, but waiting for the honeymoon!

Rohit Pramar talks to the pretty Mona Lisa about honeymoon plans, marriage, and more…

Mona Lisa aka Antara Biswas, who got married to Vikrant Singh on reality show recently, says she hasn’t got time for honeymoon. The pretty actress, who has worked in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Bengali films, is currently busy finishing her Bhojpuri projects. Here she speaks about the reality show and all things love!

Bigg Boss 10 is over and you’re still working. Did you get any time for honeymoon?
Well, I was in the house for 100 days so there are a lot of projects pending. They’ve been waiting for me and a lot of money goes into the making of these films so I’ve to finish them. My schedule has been busy but we will go for honeymoon soon (smiles). We have also decided to do something for Valentine’s Day.

Have you shortlisted any place?
We didn’t think much about it earlier, but now we have decided to go to Singapore and spend some time there in cruises.

How did acting happen for you?
I come from a humble background and I used to work as an extra or sometimes a background dancer. So I have been there and I know where I come from. In this industry, people treat you according to your popularity. I used to do Bengali item songs and as I wasn’t very popular, people didn’t treat me nicely. But I love to act, sing and dance, it’s my passion. I used to work as a receptionist in Kolkata, and there people used to tell me that I should enter the fashion industry. I started taking part in beauty contests and then I did item songs so I’ve come a long way. During my childhood days, there wasn’t much on TV so I’d pick up from shows like Rangoli and Chitrahaar. I grew up in a Bengali family so I was taught dancing and singing. It’s the Bhojpuri industry that has given me so much love. The only difference is the language but most things are the same. I will always be grateful to them.

Did you always know that you would be getting married on the show?

Honestly, I didn’t know anything. Vikrant entered the house and it was like a surprise. But they contacted our families and said it’s going to be a real marriage. So even they had their doubts whether Vikrant would say yes or no, or whatever. But he was also ready, he agreed for it within a second because we were always planning to get married anyway. Our families also wanted us to get married.

Karan Johar said some nasty things about your marriage and character. Did you feel bad?
Obviously, because when he wished me, he was very nice to me. But when I saw the episode, I was shocked. I felt really bad because we’re real. Our feelings are real. We feel connected and we genuinely love each other. Even Farah Khan asked him not to speak like that but I don’t know why he said it. I didn’t expect him to say such things about my marriage.

He was probably joking. But I felt really bad because he makes such love stories so he should have feelings. How can he think like that about others? People have told me that many couples got married before and their marriage didn’t last long. So probably he had his doubts. He even said things like ‘ghar ke andar gulcharrey udaa rahi hai, bahar kaise hogi.’ But recently I saw Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and I could relate to the character because Manu and I are good friends. There was nothing between us.

Have you signed any Bollywood film?
Well, I’m waiting but I haven’t received any Bollywood offers so far. I am getting offers for TV shows though.
