The ninth season of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ has been doing wonders on the TRP charts from the time it was launched. Hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, the game show is loved by its audience for its inspiring stories, knowledge and sheer human values. With a door to win seven crores, the show hadn’t yet seen a big winner until yesterday night. Jamshedpur social worker Anamika Mazumdar has finally broken the jinx and becomes the first crorepati of the season.
Mazumdar is the first person to win Rs 1 core on the current season. She made it to the jackpot question worth Rs 7 crore, however, decided to quit as she didn’t know the answer.
Anamika is a social worker and is married with two kids. A source told The Indian Express that host Amitabh Bachchan was impressed with how she played the game. “Anamika was a very practical and reasonable kind of a person who took each question very seriously. When she reached the crore mark, even with no lifeline left, she reasoned all the options before choosing the right answer. Even Big B was surprised with her confidence and risk-taking attitude,” the source said.
Giving you a quick introduction on Anamika, she is married with two kids. A social worker by profession, she runs an NGO called faith In India- Female Aura initiated towards Hope from Jamshedpur. After winning the whopping prize money, Anamika said that she will invest the amount in her NGO that works for rural areas of Jharkhand. The episode was shot on Thursday and will be telecast soon. Meanwhile, as part of the Friday special episodes with real-life heroes, Olympic champion P. V. Sindhu will soon be seen on the show. The sports star shot for the episode yesterday. Big B also posted a photo with the badminton star on Twitter and wrote how proud he felt to host her on his show.
