Jacqueline Fernandez, who once only dreamt of working with Salman Khan, today is working with the who’s who of Bollywood. With 3 big releases this year namely Housefull 3, Dishoom and A Flying Jatt and her debut on small screen with Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 9, she definitely is in a secure space. Reminiscing about the old time when she didn’t have work, she says she would never want to feel like that again. She wants to work harder and do bigger roles now. She wants to do more challenging roles and wants to shock her audience and entertain them in the best possible way.

When asked whom would she want to do her next film with, she was quick enough to take Rajinikanth’s name. She has tried her hand at comedy, romance and drama and now she wants to do a kickass action film. She accepted that she is very nervous about her craft initially but post ‘Kick’ she gained a lot of confidence.

Talking about her decision to do television she said, “There is connect that TV has with the audience which is something you can’t find anywhere else. And for me, I really want to start having that connect with my audience. I may not get that from my movies or the characters I do in films but I know I can get that in TV. Yeah and I think it’s a great opportunity to do that especially on a platform like Jhalak which is such a popular show. It was about time for me I felt.”

Jhalak has had popular dancer-actors like Madhuri Dixit Nene and Shahid Kapoor as judges in the previous seasons. Does that build pressure on Jacqueline? “I am feeling the pressure. I hope I do justice… Honestly, I am not a dance guru. They (contestants) are better dancers than me. All I can judge you is on wow today you really moved me, oh my god I had tears in my eyes, I had goose bumps or I was smiling. So that’s the only way I can judge you,” she says.

When asked what new will she bring to the show, she said “I want to bring a little bit of informality to the show. I don’t want to be in gowns and dresses… I want to make it a little bit informal…I don’t want them to see me as a judge. I want them to see me as a mentor as someone who has come here to encourage them.”
