Aamir Khan considers Amitabh Bachchan as the greatest actor and star ever born

The popularity of the three Khans in Bollywood today is undisputed. Their stardom over shadows all. But for superstar Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan is the biggest superstar. “There are many superstars, I think for me Amitji is the biggest superstar, followed by Salman and Shah Rukh Khan, even Deepika and Katrina are superstars. Also, directors today have become superstars in their own space today,” the 52-year-old actor said during the trailer launch of his new movie ‘Secret Superstar’.

Talking more about his stardom the actor added, “But I am happy in the space I am. Don’t consider myself as a superstar. I am very grateful that I get an opportunity to do that work that I enjoy,”

After Tubelight and Raees failing to make a mark at the box office, the industry is now relaying on Aamir as he has always been the most bankable star. “You need to understand that creative work is very unpredictable. We all try our best sometimes we succeed something we fail. One or two films don’t affect anyone’s stardom. Salman and Shah Rukh are big stars and I am a fan of them, I don’t really compare stardom. Each one is unique in their own space,” says Aamir.

The film features Zaira Wasim, Meher Vij and Aamir in the lead roles. It chronicles the story of a child who aspires to become a singer. “I enjoyed a lot shooting for this movie. In Dangal he was my father and then when I saw him as Shakti Kumar, I was shocked. I used to just keep laughing when we were shooting,” says Zaira when asked about Aamir role in the movie.

“When I read the script, I really loved it. But I couldn’t see myself as this sleazy character, so I decided to do a screen test. And while doing it, I enjoyed playing this role. Also I don’t relate to this character, he is very different from me. It was a challenge for me to play this person on screen,” the ‘Dangal’ actor added about his character in the movie. Even wife Kiran Rao dissuaded the actor from doing this role.

Although a many assume that being a Bollywood superstar, Aamir would be living his childhood dream, but it is not true. “My unfulfilled dream was to become a tennis player. I couldn’t do it as my father wanted me to focus on my studies. Although, after I stopped playing tennis my marks didn’t improve. Hazardous khawisshe ki hai khab adura, bohot nikle mere Arman par har khawab adhura,” the actor expressed with a shaiyari.

We have generally shown films to children that made abroad. As in India very few films are made for children. We should work on this,” he added.

The superstar also reacted the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) objection to certain scenes and use of cuss words in Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer “Babumoshai Bandookbaaz”. He said that the job of the (CBFC) is to certify films and not censor them and he hopes that things will change for the better soon.
