There has been a buzz around Kunal Kapoor’s ‘Veeram’ for quite some time now. When the first poster came out showcasing Kunal’s everyone was waiting for the trailer to come. And exactly 10 days ahead of its theatrical release, Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan unveils ‘Veeram’ trailer on his Facebook page. Hrithik lauded Kunal’s work by calling it the promo video as “incredible”.
Kunal Kappor as Chandu Chekavar, a rebellious warrior is very impressive. His malevolent smile, his Kalaripayattu skills, the evil giant in his eyes, all these features create the impression. It is really hard to believe that this is the same guy who played a carefree producer in ‘Dear Zindagi’. The cinematography is mind blowing. Each frame is a visual treat. The background score complements the storyline perfectly. The movie touches upon the elements of greed, anger, guilt, love and war.
‘Veeram’ is a period drama, chronicles the real life story of infamous warrior Chanthu Chekavar. ‘Veeram’ tells the rise and fall of Chanthu Chekavar who is believed to have lived in the 16th century in North Malabar. ‘Veeram’ is also an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s play, Macbeth and is the fifth instalment in Jayaraj’s Navarasa series. The film is a trilingual film and is produced at the cost of Rs 35 crore which make it the most expensive film ever in Malayalam.
The film is set to release in Malayalam on February 24 and the Hindi version will release sometimes later in March. Besides Kunal, the film also stars Shivajith Nambiar, Himarsha Venkatsamy, Satheesh Menon and Aaran. ‘Veeram’ also marks Kunal Kapoor’s Malayalam debut.
