The first step is taken and now Deepak Anand has put ‘Yeh Hai Judgment Hang Till Death’ behind him, as his next project is already beginning, writes Shubarna Mukerji Shu.
Yeh Hai Judgment Hang Till Death, being a niche film, not many know about how you came about the industry. Please share your journey with us.
I was born and brought up in Delhi. I was very thin with no personality. I used to get lots of taunts from my friends and relatives for my appearance. I was neglected and couldn’t participate in any of the sports in the school because of my personality. Even though I had no looks, I was mentally strong to believe in myself.
As I grew up I started training myself. When I was in 12th standard, I played volleyball for international level. Simultaneously I worked for LIC Insurance Company for 3months. After leaving this job I had joined as Gym instructor in a Health Club, worked for 4years. People used to give me good compliments about my Physique and look and also suggested me to enter into Modeling Industry. From there I have started my career as a ‘Model’, won title for Mr. North India 2012 and Mr. International Global 2015 respectively.
I have worked for premium brands like RIG, Pantaloons, Sony Ericson, L’Oreal, Reebok, and Euro Inner Wares.
I did shoot for Maxim and Femina Magazines, also did many ramp shows like Wills Fashion Show, Pune International Fashion Week, for Signature Fashion Show.
Also I was a part of a few TV shows like MTV Grind, played main model character in Video song with famous singer Ms. Suman, song called ‘Zara SA’.
When I came to Mumbai in 2013 to enter into Bollywood industry, I had to face lot of challenges. The survival was difficult but never asked money from my Parents. In 2014 I started getting some small roles for TV serials, also did some 6 to 7 Ads for big brands like Panasonic, TVC for Times Channel, IPL AD & etc.
Also I have worked in 2-3 South Movies, one of them is ‘Anjaan’ and other 2 movies didn’t release till yet. My Bollywood movie “Hanged Till Death” released on September 23, 2016.
Who are the Bollywood directors you want to work with?
I aspire to work with directors like Anurag Kashyap, Imtiaz Ali Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali in future.
What are the new projects in line?
There are 2 to 3 movies in the pipeline with the good directors. At present I am unable to revel any information about my upcoming projects.
Who is your inspiration?
Without a doubt it has got to be the legendary Raj Kapoor and Dilip Kumar Sahab. They are my inspiration.
