Farhan Akhtar has got attached to sports biopics as he feels they help motivate people

Director-turned-actor Farhan Akhtar feels that more biopics should be made that so that their struggles and victories can inspire the young generation. Farhan, who essayed the role of Milkha Singh in ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ has personally got hooked onto sports biopics. So, along with his business partner and friend Ritesh Sidhwani, he is producing two films that are based on sports heroes; Akshay Kumar’s Gold and Deepa Malik’s untitled biopic.

 “I personally feel that with biopics of sports heroes, there is so much for people, especially children to learn from watching these life stories. It’s not just important for their stories, struggles, and victories to come out to the forefront and be known to more people, but the subjects serves as motivators and inspirations to the younger generation,” reveals Farhan.

The filmmaker also said that he is very keen to be a part of more stories that talk about the unsung sports heroes, in whatever capacity, either as an actor or a producer.
