Akshay Kumar’s upcoming sports drama Gold is all set to have a grand opening on Independence Day this year. Recently, the star was in a mode to treat his fans on Twitter where he hosted a Q & A session ‘AskAkshay’. It didn’t take long for fans to pour in their built up curiosity, as the actor patiently gave a response in his unique and witty style.

While many asked his take on personal scenarios in life, one user questioned, “When was the first time you bought GOLD in your life?” to which the Padman star replied, “I never bought Gold, I earned my medals.” Now that’s a masterstroke!

Gold is based on Tapan Das, a hockey coach who trains team India to win its first gold medal as a free nation at 1948 Olympics in field hockey. Akshay has lately been rolling out biopics at large, be it Airlift, Rustom, Padman and now Gold; the actor is simply unstoppable.

Apart from Akki, the film also stars Mouni Roy in her debut, Kunal Kapoor and Amit Sadh. The movie is helmed by Reema Kagti and will hit the screen on August 15, 2018.
