Exclusive: Aadar Jain and Anya Singh talk’s about there Bollywood journey

Debutantes Aadar Jain and Anya Singh talk exclusively to Nikita Wadhawan about entering Bollywood, their film, helping each other on the sets and more…

In a classy, black tie setting with chandeliers and decor that recreated the allure and glamour of cinema, Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma presented Aadar Jain and Anya Singh to the media. While Aadar may not share the prestigious Kapoor surname, he has good looks and the charm of a Kapoor boy. Where as Anya Singh, a Delhi girl, doesn’t hail from the film fraternity, was sometimes lost on the sets and would look up to Aadar for help.

“I would ask him a lot of questions as I was not aware of what happened on a film set. I was very embarrassed to go up to my director or anyone else, but he (Aadar) was very helpful,” says YRF’s new girl Anya


After the glitzy press introduction, Yash Raj’s new poster kids says that all of this felt like the first day of school. “We were talking about this yesterday that it feels like the first day of school. When you are on the stage I had butterflies in my stomach, I think it is called positive anxiety,” says Aadar.

“It feels like we are starting a new chapter, but this feels like a life changing chapter,” Anya added.

Before taking a leaping in from of the camera, Aadar was an assistant director on films like Happy New Year and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil which helped in change his outlook about cinema.

“I think it stemmed not just from my family, but I assisted directors like Farah Khan and Karan Johar. While working as an A.D I observed a lot of great actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Boman Irani, Anushaka Sharma and my brother Ranbir, I got learn a lot from them. Moreover, I also saw the camerawork and the various department that help in making a film gave me a different perspective about the world of cinema,” says Aadar.

Talking about his co-star Aadar says, “Whatever little way I could I helped out. But she is a fast learner and a very good actor.”

The debutant also talked about his passion for sports which stems from his Kapoor lineage. “Actually in our family everyone is found of sports. From my grandfather to Ranbir, everyone has always been involved in sports. Every Sunday, many people from in industry join me Ranbir to play football and since everyone is busy with work they set aside one day to just play football. Even my nanaji used to play cricket with Dilipji and other,” says Aadar.

Anya and Aadar will debut with director Habib Faisal, who launched Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra in his 2012 film ‘Ishaqzaade,’ which too was produced by Yash Raj Films.
