Pehla Pehla Pyaar – First Love
Anurag Kashyap and Aarti Bajaj had met in New Delhi and then in Mumbai. Bajaj was a Bollywood film editor by professional. The couple met each other and fell in love way before they had made a mark in the film industry. The two of them were in relationship for over a decade. Aarti wanted to pursue her career in film editing first. It is said that the couple got into a live-in relationship during those days. During this phase, the duo had their first child in 2001, a daughter, named Aaliyah. Two years after the birth of their daughter, Anurag and Aarti tied the knot. But their marriage ended four years later, when the couple separated in 2007.
He finds second love in modern Chandramukhi – Kalki Koechlin
After a year, in 2008, Anurag was busy working for his upcoming film Dev D, which was a modern rendition of the classic love story Devdas. In this film, he had the French-Indian actress Kalki Koechlin playing the character of Chandramukhi. After six months, Anurag fell down for his modern Chandramukhi. In an interview, Kalki says that, “She never noticed that he had started liking her, and it was only after Anurag started making frequent appearances as an audience member for her plays that she got a whiff of the matter.”
She added that, “Six months down the shooting of her film with him, he asked her out. He even said her that he was madly in love with her. She was quite impressed by his honesty, and even added that he is a sentimental person who would wear his heart by his sleeve. Qualities like these drew her closer to Anurag and they were soon in a deep romantic bond, which became evident when the two moved-in together to have a live-in relationship.”
Anurag and Kalki’s love story ended in 2015 when their divorce came through. They were married in 2011. They have officially now parted ways and Kalki has now settled in her own life.
Third time love, but she also went away
It’s reported that, when Anurag and Kalki got separated, he grew closer to assistant director Sabrina Khan. She had worked with Anurag in some films and a source close to the filmmaker said that, “She had brought a stability in his life when his marriage with Kalki was on the rocks. The duo first met at a party and hit it off immediately. Their friendship soon blossomed into a full-fledged relationship.” Even some sources close to the couple said that, “the two have been going on long holidays together. In spite of having an age difference of nearly twenty years, the two seemed to share a strong bond.” But, even the press was not sure about guessing of Anurag Kashyap’s third marriage. Still, things seemed rosy again in Anurag’s personal life; until there were reports in early 2015 which stated that Sabrina and Anurag have separated.
Unconditional love story – falling in love with 23-year-old girl
Anurag’s life is currently coloured with the love of a 23-year-old, Shubhra Shetty, Xavier’s alumni and a co-worker at Phantom Films, which is Anurag’s production house. Shubhra Shetty is said to be in a live-in relationship with Anurag. She is all over Anurag’s social media feeds. The 23-year-old girl has also grabbed eyeballs due to her age difference with the 44-year-old director. Shubhra is a few years younger to Anurag’s daughter from his first wife Aarti Bajaj, Aaliya.
