Ready to discuss issues: Anupam Kher on FTII students' open letter

Veteran actor Anupam Kher is recently appointed as the new Chairman of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) in Pune. Especially, Kher has replaced former controversial Chairman Ganjendra Chouhan.

Well, FTII is the well-known and prestigious institution for aspiring students who want to make their career into art and theatre activity. However, when small-time actor Gajendra Chauhan had been appointed as the Chairman of an institute, thousands of students had started the protest against the Chairman.

Reportedly, the government was attacked by the opposition and accused of elevating its own loyalists to top posts. However, the actor who is known for his role of Yudhisthir in Mahabharata had refused to resign from the post.

Thus, the students were on strike for months and refused to attend classes unless Mr. Chauhan was removed. But now, after Anupam Kher’s appointment, we can say that students must have satisfied with the new Chairman.
