All my shows have been very close to my heart, says Anand Goradia

Seasoned actor Anand Goradia is currently playing the character of Arjan in Rahul Kumar Tewary and Saba Mumtaz’s newly launched show Moh Moh Ke Dhaagey. Anand is someone whom we have seen in many successful and popular shows like Naa Aana Iss Desh Mein Laado,, Adaalat to name few. So which is the one show and character he is closest to? Anand says after thinking for a while, “I don’t want to sound clichéd, but all my shows have been very close to my heart. I give in my best efforts to whatever character I play and I churn out myself and when the show is over. I feel empty within because I get exhausted as an actor and I feel I have nothing to offer. The moment I get a new character I start from scratch and in that process, I fall in love with that character and the show. I put in so much of effort to ensure I don’t become a furniture in the show. Even If I am just standing I try to ensure that my presence is felt in the show with my character. But if I would have to take one show’s name it has to be Na Aana Iss Desh Laado because that is the show which gave me recognition and people started to recognize me as a good actor.”

Anand is also someone who is a big name in the Gujrati theatre. He says,” Theatre has always helped me, it has given me the base and root. I am not in theatre anymore now but because of my theatre days, I am being able to create new characters in every show. My improvisation, my takiya kalam which I make myself in all the shows, be it Laado, Adaalat or whichever show and I am working for this show too, is because of my theatre experience.” Anand started his theatre journey with Late Shafi Namdar, then with Homi Wadia and also did one of the most renowned plays named Chagan Magan Taara Chaapre Lagan where he got a lot of critical acclamation.
