After ‘Pad Man’ challenge, Akshay Kumar kicks off ‘Gold Bin challenge’ and here’s what it is all about!

It is an undisputed fact that promotions are an integral part of every Bollywood film and when it is an A-lister playing the lead role, expect something unique coming your way. From the ‘toilet’ challenge to the ‘padman’ challenge, now the next on the cards is ‘Gold Challenge’. The sports period drama featuring Akshay Kumar in the lead is only a week away from its release and here’s a new concept that was introduced by the actor on social media.

‘Gold’ is a compilation of real-life incidents, from the Olympics match of hockey that was held in 1936 to the one that was held post-Independence in 1948. The film is a dramatized version of these incidents with Akshay Kumar playing the role of the Indian hockey team’s manager. Amit Sadh, Kunal Kapoor amongst others play talented players who all belief in making India win post-Independence in the Olympics competition that is held in London.

Not surprisingly, the film will feature many emotions that are often associated with sports, from patriotism to team spirit. Keeping that as the foundation and showcasing brotherhood and love for the team, Akshay started off the Gold Bin challenge wherein you see the hockey team seated alongside each other and using their hockey sticks to make a goal. The goal is to help the ball land in the bin. Here’s a glimpse of the challenge:


During the same, Akshay also urged others to gather up the team to take up the challenge. Well, it is yet to be seen which Bollywood celebrities will come together to accept this challenge and take it forward! Speaking of ‘Gold’, it is directed by Reema Kagti and marks the foray of TV actress Mouni Roy into Bollywood. She essays the role of Akshay’s wife in this sports drama. It is slated to release on August 15, marking the occasion of Independence Day.
