The wedding is said to be a private family affair. The couple has been together for seven years and got engaged recently on a holiday in Nicaragua. Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh
Ranveer and Deepika have always been tight-lipped about their future plans. But of late there were reports that the couple has narrowed down in four dates between September and December this year and their family have already started trousseau shopping. It was also said that the wedding will be a private affair with the couple scouting for a suitable wedding destination in India and abroad.
But in a recent interview, Ranveer reportedly said that nothing is official until it is made official. He said, “It is the function of speculation – to exist. Nothing is official till it is made official and I am not a seer. I cannot say this will happen on this date in the future. Right now we are both extremely busy working. Besides, she is also recuperating from back problems. So we are quite occupied and distracted. So, if there is an announcement in the future, you will be hearing me shouting from the rooftops.” While in an interview with film critic and journalist Rajeev Masand, Deepika also said marriage will happen when it has to happen. She said, “When it is time, I think I will know it. But as an institution, I think it is extremely important because that’s the way I have been raised. It is extremely important for me to see myself like that. It is every girl’s dream. I have always followed my instincts and I think I will feel it when I am ready or when it has to happen”.
Though the couple has refuted rumors of marriage in the near future, rumor mills suggest that the wedding will take place soon.
