In all probability, writer-producer Harry Sachdeva’s 31st October starring Soha Ali Khan and Vir Das, based on the aftermath of Indira Gandhi’s assassination, will feature in school textbooks.
Since the subject of 31st October is a close depiction of one of the darkest days in Indian history, the makers including writer-producer Harry Sachdeva and National award winning filmmaker Shivaji Lotan Patil have applied to Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to include one of the tragic and real incidents of India in the history books.
A source says, “While the young generation may not be aware of what happened on 31st October post Indira Gandhi’s assassination, a detailed report of the same through the medium of school syllabus will help them understand about the incident. As part of their syllabus, the makers hope school children will get to study about this part of the incident,” the source adds.
31st October is an edge-of-the-seat thriller based on the aftermath of Indira Gandhi’s assassination by her two Sikh bodyguards, which completely shook the political scenario of the country.
