Cameo appearances are designed to give audiences a special surprise. They are designed in such a way that once you realise about it you watch the film again and again. The director in a very creative way manage to bring in a cameo appearance of other celebrity friends or popular directors. But sometimes the appearance is so small that viewers can miss them entirely if not paid close attention. There have been instances of blink-and-miss appearances in the most sly ways. Here are 10 you-blink-and-you-miss appearances we bet you didn’t notice.

Avantika Khan in Ek Main Aur Ek Tu
Imran Khan’s wife Avantika Malik make up for a quick move in Ek Main Aur Ek Tu’s ‘Auntyji’ song. She also had a special appearance in Imran’s ‘I Hate Love Storys’ directed by Punit Malhotra.


Farah Khan in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai released in 1998, became the movie of the generation that connected with each one of us differently. For some it gave love goals, some took fashion inspiration and for others it taught what ‘friendship’ really is. And the most important ‘pyar dosti hai’. But did you know apart from Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Rani Mukherjee and Salman Khan, the film also featured Farah Khan? Well, let us take you to the popular segment ‘The Neelam Show’ where popular choreographer Farah Khan and ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’ director Nikhil Advani made an appearance in the film.

Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan in Pehla Nasha
We bet you didn’t know this. Shah Rukh and Aamir shared a screen space in Ashutosh Gowariker’s directorial debut ‘Pehla Nasha’. The film had Deepak Tijori, Raveena Tandon and Pooja Bhatt in lead roles. Other than the Khans, the film also had cameos by Saif Ali Khan, Juhi Chawla, Rahul Roy and Sudesh Berry.

Ruskin Bond in Saat Khoon Maaf
Celebrated Indian author turned scriptwriter made appearance in Priyanka Chopra’s ‘7 Khoon Maaf’. He played the role of a priest in the last scene of the film where Susanna (Priyanka Chopra) takes vows as a nun. The film is based on Bond’s short story ‘Susanna’s Seven Husbands’.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Munnabhai MBBS & Shool
Much before Gangs of Wasseypur made Nawazuddin Siddiqui a household name, he made a cameo in Munnabhai MBBS. He played the small role of a pickpocket. Another cameo, of Nawazuddin was in E. Niwas’s cop drama ‘Shool’, where he played the role of a waiter at a dhaba.

Anushka Sharma in Lage Raho Munnabhai
Not exactly a cameo but long before Anushka Sharma made her debut in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008), she appeared in Lage Raho Munnabhai. Don’t remember? The girl in the poster is Anushka Sharma in her initial modeling days.

Karan Johar & Farah Khan in Kal Ho Na Ho
After Nikhil Advani’s cameo in ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ it was Karan Johar’s turn. In Nikhil’s directorial debut ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’ Karan Johar and Farah Khan played guests in a restaurant scene.

Tabu in Main Hoon Na
We all know Farah Khan and Tabu are close buddies and in the past they have even spoken about their bond. Farah considers Tabu as lucky and insisted Tabu be in at least one frame of her debut movie ‘Main Hoon Na’. Tabu made a really small appearance in the scene where everyone is trying to teach Shah Rukh Khan dance pre-prom.

Kiran Rao in Dil Chahta Hai
Long before Kiran Rao and Aamir Khan fell head-over-heels in love and got married, they shared a screen space. Yes, she appears in a scene in Goa in Aamir Khan’s ‘Dil Chahta Hai’. The movie was Farhan Akhtar’s directorial debut and Kiran was assisting him.

Shahid Kapur in Dil To Pagal Hai & Taal
We all know Shahid Kapur is a great dancer, he started his career as a background dancer with Shiamak Davar’s troupe. He was part of the dancing troup in Dil Toh Pagal Hai’s ‘Le gayi le gayi’ song but was not at all visible. His appearance in Aishwarya Rai’s Taal is clearly visible.
