    Mumbai: The Maharashtra cabinet Tuesday approved the implementation of two Metro rail projects – Dahisar-Mira Bhayander and Andheri-Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International (CSIM) airport- collectively worth Rs 6,607 crore. An official from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said Metro line 9 will be Dahisar-Mira Bhayander route, while Metro 7 A will be Andheri-CSIM airport route. Both the routes are together 13.5 km long.

    No toll exemption for vehicles on Mumbai-Pune Expressway: Maharashtra to Bombay High Court

    Mumbai: The Maharashtra government informed the Bombay High Court Tuesday that it had decided against exempting vehicles using the Mumbai-Pune Expressway from paying a toll. In an affidavit filed through the Public Works Department (PWD), the government informed the court while it had initially contemplated exempting light motor vehicles from paying levy at five toll plazas along the expressway, it had decided against granting any exemptions for now.

    Mumbai: The Bombay High Court has refused permission to a 17-year-old rape survivor to medically terminate her 20-week pregnancy. In an order passed on Monday, a bench of Justices A S Oka and M S Sonak turned down the girl’s plea after noting that a panel of medical experts had ruled that considering the late stage of her pregnancy, an abortion would pose a major risk to the life of the petitioner.
