    Bandra security guard’s death in lift just an ‘accident’

    Mumbai: Bandra police have ruled out foul play in the death of a 60-year-old security guard Radheshyam Harijan in a Bandra-based high rise, after receiving the reports given by the Lift Inspection Unit (LIU) officials. The report states that Harijan might have committed suicide or could have died accidentally on June 29, as the elevator was in perfect shape.

    Bombay High Court says, not all types of live-in relations come under ambit of marriage

    Mumbai: In a significant ruling, the Aurangabad bench of the Bombay High Court recently held all ‘live-in’ relationships cannot come under the ambit of a ‘domestic relationship’ which is a relationship in the nature of marriage. The HC further held that only those live-in relationships in which a ‘legal marriage’ is possible are qualified to be called a domestic relationship in the nature of marriage.

    Donald Trump administration plans steeper tariff on import of Chinese products

    Washington: On the direction of US President Donald Trump, his administration is considering to increase the proposed tariff of 10 per cent on import of Chinese products to 25 per cent, a top trade negotiator has said.     Mumbai Rains: 6 ‘scattered’ cholera cases, BMC ‘not worried’

    Mumbai: As Mumbai takes a break from the monsoon, the incidence of waterborne diseases is rising.  While seven people have died of leptospirosis and 97 cases of suspected leptospirosis have been reported and six cases of cholera were diagnosed in July. The six cholera patients are under treatment in municipal hospitals, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) public health department has informed.

    Mumbai: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator Raj Purohit demanded that Bangladeshis from Mumbai, especially those in his constituency — Colaba — be identified and deported to their own conutry.
