    Ujjain: A series of programmes were organised in the city to mark the auspicious day of Guru Purnima on Friday.  A programme of guru pujan was organised at Sandipani Ashram under the 41st Maharishi Sandeepani Smruti Mahotsava. The temple and the idols of Lord Krishna, Balram and guru Sandipani were decorated beautifully for the occasion.

According to the media incharge Sachin Saxena, an online membership campaign was launched to make new members of the party in the entire country to gain the distinction of being largest party in the world by enrolling more than 11 crore members in the whole of India.

    Tokyo: A powerful typhoon hurtled towards Japan today, with western areas recently devastated by floods and landslides in the storm’s cross-hairs. Typhoon Jongdari, packing winds of up to 180 kilometres (110 miles) an hour, is forecast to make landfall on the country’s main island today night or early tomorrow, according to Japan’s Meteorological Agency.

  • Indore: After second counselling, 50% students allocated seats in BEd colleges

    Indore: Department of Higher Education (DHE) on Friday released second merit list of students who have been granted admissions in BEd colleges. As per DHE, nearly 50 percent students were awarded seats in colleges. “In all 54,354 students had registered for second counselling out of whom 26,803 were given admission,” said Indore division additional director (higher education) KN Chaturvedi.

    Indore: On the eighth day of nation-wide strike called by transporters, the agitated truckers prevented the onion-loaded trucks to move out from Devi Ahilya Fruits and Vegetable Mandi. Barring this incident, the strike went off peacefully in the city and there was no movement of trucks on the roads.

    Indore: The relatives of 21-year-old Tejkaran who was killed by three of his wife’s family members attempted to stage chakka jam on Khandwa Road on Friday. They were demanding arrest of accused and strict action against them. Meanwhile, police reached Khandwa Road and told them that accused have been arrested after which family members reached crematorium and performed last rites.
