  • Bhopal: ECI begins verification of voters in 230 constituencies

    Bhopal: Election Commission of India has started the physical verification of voters in all the 230 constituencies of the state. Congress party claims that the ECI is conducting the verification on their complaint. Earlier on June 3, Congress party had filed the complaint to the Chief Election Commissioner alleging various irregularities in the voters list of the state. It was claimed that around 60 lakh bogus voters are present in the state.

  • Bhopal: SPAKS runs against reservation in promotion

    Bhopal: A run was held by Samanya Pichhada Evum Alpsankhyak Varg Adhikari Karmachari Sanstha (SPAKS) in the state capital in protest against reservation in promotion on Sunday morning. If demands are not fulfilled, SPAKS samaj will contest elections in all the 230 seats in the state. Many including journalists, employees, officials and people of all walks of society joined the run. Besides, SPAKS samaj also convened a meeting on the same issue.

    Bhopal: Water level in the parched Upper Lake—life line of Bhopal— has receded to the extent that it can now supply water for only 7 more days in Wall City (old city). Assistant Engineer Rakesh Nigam said, “We have water for just one week supply in Upper Lake. If monsoon delays further, as weather scenario indicates, the piped water supply to the Wall City as pipe-water will be badly affected.”
