    Mumbai: Three labourers were killed while two others were injured when a part of a JCB crane machine fell on them in suburban Powai in Mumbai today evening, a civic official said. “Our control room got information about the accident at 5.21 pm and a fire brigade team was rushed to the spot for rescue work,” said an official of the disaster management cell of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.

  • Mumbai: Unable to get over girlfriend’s death, constable Mukesh Borge hangs himself

    Mumbai: Police constable Mukesh Borge (27) committed suicide at his residence at Naigaon, Parel on Sunday night. Borge was in relationship with Manju Gaikwad, a lady constable who had also committed suicide on November 28 last year. Borge hanged himself from a ceiling fan at his residence at Naigaon. A case of abetment to suicide had been registered against Borge in Gaikwad’s suicide case.

    Nashik: Supporters of NCP leader and former deputy chief minister Chhagan Bhujbal, who has been in jail since March 2016, will demonstrate at all tehsil offices and collectorates throughout India on Tuesday demanding his release from custody and terming the government action as ‘sudbuddhi’ (vendetta).     Aurangabad: An MBA student allegedly forwarded a question paper he was attempting in an examination hall to his friends outside through WhatsApp on Monday, prompting authorities to cancel the paper, the official said. Three students have been detained by police in connection with the incident which occurred at the examination centre at Vasantrao Naik college in the city, he said.

    11,000 villages in Maharashtra are now drought-free, says CM Devendra Fadnavis

    Nashik: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that the government through the jalyukt shivar scheme had made 11,000 villages drought free in the state. He was speaking after laying the foundation of the Ahilyabai Holkar government agriculture college at halgaon village of Jamkhed tehsil of Ahmednagar district on Monday. He also said that that an agriculture college would also be established at Srigonda in Ahmednagar district.
