    Mumbai: Oxygen leak behind sub explosion

    Indian Navy’s frontline submarine INS Sindurakshak had exploded in 2013 in Mumbai due to leakage of oxygen from a torpedo, the Comptroller and Auditor General said in a report on Friday, revealing the reasons causing the major accident. The CAG cited the report of a high-level inquiry by the Navy into the explosion on board the submarine on Aug 14, 2013 following which it had sunk.

    Mumbai: Central Railways to get 400 new stainless steel coaches

    Mumbai : The Central Railways has converted at least 400 coaches of long distance trains into Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches which would be of stainless steel. The conventional coaches are being converted into LHB coaches in order to provide safety to passengers during a railway accident.

    Bhayandar : Less than 48 hours after they broke into a readymade garments’ shop in Uttan, sleuths of the Thane (rural) police nabbed two notorious thieves and managed to recover the entire stolen booty from their possession. According to the police, the duo identified as Akash Narayan Singh (19) and Shahrukh Dilawar Khan (21) had broken into a readymade garment stores in the Navi-Khadi area of Uttan.
