    Ujjain: A major tragedy was averted as Jodhpur-Puri Passenger, carrying 1,400 passengers, and a freight train heading to Indore from Bhopal, collided side-on in the wee hours of Friday. Seven bogies and an engine were damaged in the mishap. Misinterpretation of signal by driver of freight train was cited as the reason behind the mishap.

    Bhopal: Notwithstanding the continuous loots in last three days, the police have claimed to busted a gang of looters accused of looting people of their valuables by stopping them on roads and then throwing chilli powder in their eyes before fleeing away with the loot. The police arrested five accused and confiscated two-wheelers and knives used by them in committing the incidents along with the looted valuables.

Chouhan said this year production of 32 lakh metric ton onions was expected in the state. Falling prices along with bumper production was a cause for concern.

    Dhaka, At least 16 people were killed on Saturday when a truck carrying labourers veered off the road in Bangladesh’s Rangpur district, police said. The accident occurred around 5.30 a.m., on the Dhaka-Rangpur Highway, bdnews24 quoted a senior police official as saying.
