  • 7 US destroyer crew missing, commander hurt in crash off Japan

    Tokyo: Seven crew on a US destroyer were missing and their commander injured today after their Navy destroyer collided with a Philippine-flagged container ship off the coast of Japan, with the badly damaged US vessel partially flooded. Two others were hurt along with the USS Fitzgerald’s commanding officer Bryce Benson, the military said in a statement.

    Bhopal: The deadline set by central bench of National Green Tribunal (NGT) for shifting of all the dairy-farms operating in the residential colonies of the city passed on June 15, but it seems the dairy-farm operators are in no mood to follow the order of the tribunal as so far only 200 of 818 owners have moved out of the residential areas.

  • Bhopal: Last year’s dues unpaid; warehouses not ready to stock onions

    Bhopal: The owners of private warehouses in the state are reluctant to store onions being procured by the government as they are yet to be paid for stocking the same commodity last year. Warehousing Corporation is yet to pay around Rs 27 crore of last year’s dues to the warehouse owners. Reason: The state government has not paid the amount to the Corporation.

  • Restrictions imposed in Kashmir Valley after separatists calls for bandh

    Srinagar: Authorities imposed restrictions in Srinagar and other parts of the Kashmir Valley as the separatists have called for a protest shutdown on Saturday. Srinagar District Magistrate Farooq Ahmad Lone said restrictions were imposed in the areas of Rainawari, Khanyar, Nowhatta, M.R. Gunj and Safa Kadal to maintain law and order. Heavy contingents of police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were also deployed.
