    Mumbai: Humboldt penguins shift into their permanent home at the Byculla Zoo

    After a wait of around seven months, the Humboldt penguins have been finally shifted to their permanent home in state of Art exhibit from where tourists will be able to review them on Monday morning. However the Mumbaikar’s will have to wait for a week or more before flocking to watch them as Zoo officials first wants to ensure that they are able to acclimatise to their new surroundings.

  • India’s GMR Hyderabad airport plans to raise $300 million through offshore bonds

    Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (HIAL), a unit of Bengaluru based GMR Infrastructure is planning to raise $250-300 million (Rs 1,600-2,000 crore) by selling offshore bonds. The company has hired Citigroup Inc. and Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BofAML) among others to conduct road show that is expected to begin in a fortnight.

    London: Sexual harassment, misconduct and gender violence by university staff across the UK are at epidemic levels, a media report said.  A Guardian report said Freedom of Information (FoI) requests sent to 120 universities found that students made at least 169 such allegations against academic and non-academic staff from 2011-12 to 2016-17.

    Hyderabad: An elderly couple committed suicide in Telangana’s Mancherial district due to financial problems and a family dispute, police said on Monday. Dharmaraju (80) and Pochamma (70) ended their lives by consuming pesticide on Sunday night. Preliminary investigations revealed that the couple was under depression due to a fight among their children over land, the police added.

    BHOPAL: A 10-year-old girl was killed in a road accident at Lalghati under Gunga police station on Sunday. An irate mob damaged the dumper which crushed her. She died on the spot. Driver Arif was beaten up and  he is undergoing treatment in Peoples Hospital.
