    Mumbai: The Institute of Forensic Science, Fort had organized a two day state-level Forensic Science Expo (FSE) event for the forensic students.   • Mumbai: Major fire breaks out in Byculla chawls

    Mumbai: A major fire broke out in a slum area at Sankli Street, Megharaj Shetty Marg, Badalpura Madanpura chawl, Byculla on Tuesday night. Almost 60 structures were gutted in the fire, including several manufacturing units of shoes and bags, scraps and residential structures. A fire-fighter sustained injury in the blaze and a 19-year-old girl also suffered from smoke inhalation. Both have been admitted to Nair hospital.

    BHOPAL: The income tax department is seeking information about people who exchanged the old notes of Rs 1,000 and 500 at Mahanagar Nagarik Sahakari Bank after demonetisation. The department will interrogate them. The department is also investigating how many notes did the bank exchange the IDs of the people who got the notes exchanged.

    BHOPAL: The jail department has instructed the in-charges of various jails in the state to prepare lists of the convicts serving a sentence of more than ten years and shift them immediately to the central jails.
