    New Delhi/Bengaluru : Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sleuths on Tuesday arrested a senior Reserve Bank of India (RBI) official in Bengaluru for allegedly laundering money running into millions of rupees, said an official.  “K. Michael, a Senior Special Assistant in the Issue Department of RBI’s regional office, has been arrested for his alleged involvement in conversion of old Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes worth Rs 6 lakh into Rs 100

  • Mumbai: 25% candidates in race for Council president’s post are crorepatis

    Mumbai: As many as 25 per cent candidates contesting the direct election for the post of Municipal Council President in 14 civic bodies in Pune and Latur districts are crorepatis. Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and Maharashtra Election Watch, a non-political group aiming at electoral and governmental reforms, analysed the self-sworn affidavits of 93 candidates contesting for the post of President in second phase of elections in the two districts scheduled to be held tomorrow.
