    SFIO asked to probe 469 companies in 12 years

    New Delhi: Government asked the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) to probe 184 companies in 2015-16, the highest number for any fiscal in more than a decade. During the 11-year period from 2004-05 to 2015-16, SFIO was ordered to probe 469 companies, Minister of State for Corporate Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal said in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha today.

    New Delhi: As many as 2.16 crore bogus ration cards have been detected and around Rs 13,000 crore, which would have otherwise been diverted, would now be available for the beneficiaries, government said today.
