  • CII pegs GDP growth at 8% for 2016-17

    CII is optimistic about the industry outlook for the year 2016-17, based on its research and initiatives by the government as well as expectations of a normal monsoon, GDP growth rate for 2016-17 could touch 8%, higher than the government’s projection. This is based on expected higher agricultural growth on a low base after two successive years of drought.

  • Flash FC score easy win over Jyoti FC

    Mumbai :  Flash FC hit prime form and went on to recorded a comfortable 3-1 win against Jyoti FC in a league match of the Colaba Sports League and played at the Cooperage ground. Strikers Sushant Jadhav, Sagar Bedekar and Chitresh Tandel, all scored a goal each to secure Flash FC’s win. Jyoti were lucky to get a goal thanks to Ashish Pawaskar scoring an own goal in the first half.

  • Mumbai Traffic Police fine over 21K traffic violators

    Mumbai: The Mumbai Traffic Police, under  a special drive for penalising pillion riders for not wearing helmets, have booked 21,800  offenders in just 10 days. The penalty for not wearing the helmet is Rs 100 and till May 8 traffic police have collected fine of Rs 21.86 lakh. Although the drive is for people’s safety, there is a lack of awareness for safety, says the department. The  traffic police are also penalising
