  • FIFA seeks  Michel Platini life ban: lawyer

    Paris : FIFA’s ethics watchdog wants Michel Platini banned for life over a suspect payment, the European football chief’s lawyer told AFP on Tuesday. The FIFA vice president is already serving a 90-day suspension while an investigation is held into a USD 2 million sum he received from FIFA president Sepp Blatter who is also suspended. Platini’s lawyer Thibaud d’Ales revealed the FIFA’s life ban demand which he described as a “scandal” and “excessive”.

    Mumbai : St. Francis D’Assisi, Borivali overcame arch-rivals Don Bosco, Matunga 5-4 via the tie-breaker to emerge champion of the 15th Amalendu Roye Memorial Football Tournament, organised by the Indian Cultural League (ICL) and played at the MSSA Ground, Azad Maidan. The match finished in a 1-1 draw. Don Bosco scored just before half-time through Athavra Gatkar, which was neutralized by Sherwin D’Mello in the second half.
