    Karachi: At least 41 people from minority Shia Ismaili community were today killed and several others injured after eight gunmen entered their bus and opened indiscriminate fire on the passengers in Pakistan’s southern port city of Karachi, police said. “Eight armed men on motorcycles opened fire on a bus at Safoora Chorangi, Gulistan-e-Johar area of Karachi, killing at least 41 passengers,” a police official said.

    41 killed in Karachi bus firing in Pakistan

    Islamabad: At least 41 people were killed and 20 others injured when unidentified gunmen opened fire at a bus in Pakistan’s Karachi city on Wednesday. The incident took place near the city’s Safoora Chowk area, Dawn online reported.  A hospital official said the victims included 16 women.  An eyewitness said eight men riding motorcycles opened fire at the bus.     Aizawl: Two young boys drowned in the river Kawlchaw in south Mizoram’s Saiha district, a police report said said here today. When Lalchamliana (22) was drowning Beiriapha (19) dived into the river to save him and in the process both met their watery grave on Monday, a delayed report reaching here said. Both had gone to the river for fishing. Their bodies were recovered at around midnight on Monday.

    Erode (TN) : A total of 1,859 child labourers were rescued in the district last year, a senior official has said. Last year, 1859 child labourers were rescued in the district and of them 833 had been admitted to 28 special schools for education and others to regular schools, Labour Welfare Commissioner P Amudha said. Speaking at the national Child Labour Project review meeting here, she said parents should stop sending children below 14 years to work.
