  • Dhruvpal shines in USC’s title win

    Mumbai: Excellent performer Dhruvpal Godara showed his brilliant skills in polo when he scored all seven goals to help his team USC thrash Carysil Cowboy 7- 5 ½ and win the title of the Amateur Riders’ Club ( ARC) Challenge Polo Trophy ( 6 Goals) tournament, a part of the 67th Annual Horse Show and Polo Tournament 2014, played at the Mahalaxmi Polo ground.

  • Tanushree, Himani in all women’s final

    Mumbai: Haryana’s Himani Mor will clash against Tamil Nadu’s Tanushree Palanvale in the Dreamzkraft Khar Gymkhana All India Women’s Open Tennis final. In the first semi finals, Himani beat Maharashtra’s Pareen Shivekar 6- 4, 6- 4 in straight sets. The other semi final between Tanushree and Gujarat’s Jeni Patel was a keenly contested three set encounter which Tanushree ultimately won 2- 6, 6- 2, 6- 1.

    Mumbai: ECC Baize Blasters and Khar Gymkhana Challengers registered contrasting wins to set up a title clash, in the Bombay Gymkhana Premier League billiards and snooker tournament. While Elphinstone Cricket Club Baize Blasters rallied from 0- 2 to stun Matunga Gymkhana NaMo 3- 2 in a thrilling semi- final, Khar Gymkhana Challengers eased to a 3- 1 win over Chembur Gymkhana Gladiators.

    Indore: In a daring attempt, thieves decamped with gold worth Rs 30 lakh from at least seven jewellery shops, just 100 meters away from Sarafa police station, on Friday. The miscreants managed to flee with booty worth Rs 30 lakh from the shops located at Dhangali.

    Indore: Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya ( DAVV) has declared the results of second PhD entrance test, which was held on March 9, on Saturday. About 1485 candidates out of 3000 candidates have qualified for the next level. “ We have declared the results of the PhD entrance test and 1485 candidates have qualified for the nest round, i. e interview round,” Chairman of DAVV PhD cell Prof. Ganesh Kawadia said.
