    Mumbai, June 23: The BSE Sensex shot up 177 points today to 17,727 as investors ignored spurt in food inflation and a string of concerns over domestic as well as global economic growth, buying heavyweights like RIL and Infosys.

    New Delhi, June 23:  A high powered ministerial panel is likely to meet tomorrow to consider a hike in diesel and domestic LPG prices, as well as a cut in duty rates to combat the high cost of crude oil.
    The Empowered Group of Ministers (EGoM), headed by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, may meet at 1300 hours tomorrow, a sources said here.
