BHOPAL: ‘Samarth Sangini Yojana’, will now be implemented in all districts across the state. Director general of police (DGP) Rishi Shukla has instructed all superintendents of police (SPs) in this regard.
Under the scheme, Anganwadi workers and helpers, NGOs and members of counseling agencies will be combined to form a network so that crime against women could be checked. The scheme also aims at motivating women of informing police about the crime.
Shukla said officers of level of additional superintendent of police/deputy superintendent of police will be made nodal officers under the scheme which aims at checking crimes against women. The initiative will enable women, especially living in rural areas to inform police about the incidents of molestation, rape and domestic violence, which they often avoid.
Samarth Sangini Yojana has been selected as excellent innovation. It led to encouraging results in Betul. The scheme helped police in getting important information which helped in checking crimes against women.
