Bhopal: Another death in Hamidia Hospital due to negligence

BHOPAL: The improvement status of Hamidia Hospital could well be gauged from the fact that negligence and mismanagement took one more life on Wednesday when an eight-year-old Jitendra succumbed to his injuries and his father had to carry his body as they were not even given stretcher to take the body.

Rajbai, a resident of Vidisha, brought her son to Hamidia Hospital after being referred from Vidisha district hospital. “At Hamidia Hospital, nobody attended Jitendra and nurse gave him drip. When his stomach started bloating, we asked the nurse and she called the doctor.

The doctor came after two hours and we were told that due to holiday there was no doctor. They did not even give us stretcher to take his body. My husband had to carry it. I cried and requested them several times but they did not listen,” the mother said.  GMC dean Dr MC Sonagre said he had no idea about the case and he would check if something such had happened and necessary action would be taken. Superintendent Dr Deepak Marawi refused to respond.
