Mumbai : Media planning pioneer Roda Mehta was honoured with AAAI Lifetime Achievement Award 2017 recently, for her remarkable work. Mehta is the first woman recipient of this award and 25th recipient of this honour.
The event was attended by the who’s who of the advertising and media world. Despite giving up the field almost two decades ago, Mehta’s effect on the advertising industry was far reaching. The starry evening was attended by number of her ex-colleagues, ex-team members (who now successfully head media agencies of their own) and peers who gathered to honour her.
Ashish Bhasin, VP of AAAI and chairman of the AAAI Lifetime Achievement Award selection committee shared his experience with Mehta. Others who shared their encounter with Mehta was an ex-colleague from Ogilvy & Mather, R Sridhar; Advertising and Theatre veteran, Alyque Padamsee; and her colleague at Harvard Business School, Suresh Dadlani.
The Lifetime Achievement Award Trophy and the citation plaque were then presented to Mehta by AAAI president Nakul Chopra. In her acceptance speech, she spoke of the encouragement she received from seniors and colleagues which allowed her to set her own standards and goals which were aligned with the organisational targets. She also described about her journey.
