NDTV was once a front runner in news broadcasting has been recently undergoing a lot of financial loses. NDTV has interests in digital as well as in e-commerce space. As the channel is facing huge loses, its digital sections is doing pretty okay.

According to a report by Exchange4media.com the broadcaster is in preliminary talks with some parties to sell the TV channel. Interestingly, sources say that yoga guru and founder of Patanjali Ayurved- Baba Ramdev, is among the interested parties and he recently had a preliminary discussion with some stakeholders regarding the acquisition of the channel.

When KVL Narayan Rao took over as the CEO of the company last year, he wanted to work towards complete financial turn around of the company but the revenues continued to drop from Rs 396.03 crore to Rs 368.32 crore during the first three quarters.

The channel has tried various ways to make profits, during demonetisation they tried to rope in advertisers but nothing seemed to work for them. It will be pretty interesting to see if Ramdev enters the broadcasting business.
