Complaints of irregularity in land sale of 3 mills: Govt

NEW DELHI: The government said it had received complaints of irregularities in sale of land of Finlay Mills, Mumbai Textile Mills and Apollo Mills of National Textiles Corporation ( NTC). ” Complaints regarding irregularity in sale of land of Finlay Mills, Mumbai Textile Mills and Apollo Mills of National Textiles Corporation had been received by the government,” Minister of State for Textiles Panabaaka Lakshmi informed the Lok Sabha. These cases have been referred through the Central Vigilance Commission ( CVC).

Lakshmi said NTC has garnered Rs 6,173 crore from sale of 1,432 acres of land in its various mills including Bharat Mills, Mumbai Textile Mills, Apollo Textile Mills and Indore Malwa United Mills located in various parts of the country.


To ensure transparency, sales are done through an open tender with the approval of an Assets Sale Committee in accordance with the guidelines of the Board for Industrial and Financial Reconstruction ( BIFR).

ICSI declares exam results held in June

MUMBAI: The Institute of Company Secretaries of India ( ICSI) declared the results of the Company Secretary June 2012 examinations. Students may log onto the official website – www. icsi. edu – to access the results. ICSI has also extended the facility of downloading of e- result cummarks statement by the examinees of Foundation programme and Executive programme. The next examination of Foundation programme will be held on Dec 1 and 2.

IGNOU invites applications

NEW DELHI: The Indira Gandhi National Open University ( IGNOU) announces admission to research degree programmes for January 2013 cycle. The last date for receiving the application forms is September 7, 2012 The entrance exam is to be held on September 29, 2012. The entrance examination shall be conducted by the university at the national level on the pattern of UGC/ CSIR. Venue will be IGNOU headquarters, New Delhi. There are also two MPhil. programmes on offer viz MPhil. in Translation Studies and Distance Education.
