Mumbai: Cricket is not just a game in India but a religion and a religion that is taken far too seriously. Indian cricket team is currently playing a Test series in South Africa and the batting of the Indian side has been rather disappointing.

The batting has been disappointing but everyone expects Virat Kohli to stand out and perform and win matches for India, but his batting performance in the first innings was also disappointing, so much so that one of Virat Kohli’s fan in Madhya Pradesh tried to kill himself, after witnessing his lackluster performance in South Africa.

According to a report by News18, Babubal Bairva was alone in his home watching the match when the incident happened. The retired railway employee was so upset at watching his favourite cricketer get out that he reportedly poured kerosene on himself and attempted to self-immolate

“The man in his statement accepted that he was too upset with the dismissal of Virat Kohli and set himself ablaze, During the probe, we found no other reason which could have driven Bairva to this extreme step” said Do Batti Police Station Assistant Sub Inspector PS Alawa to DNA.
