SHIVPURI : The body of a woman, who had died in a road accident on Friday morning, somewhere between the territorial jurisdictional areas of Charch and Sesaipura police station areas of Pohri sub-division, lay on the road for over five hours.
Kasturi Bai, 55 a tribal woman had left her home in Basaria village at 7 am. She was hit by an unidentified vehicle on the road and she died on the spot. The local residents informed the Sesaipura Police Station about the incident by dialing 100.
The Sesaipura police station in-charge reached the spot but he said that place fell under the jurisdiction of Charch police station. And he did not get the body carried away. Even as the woman’s body lay on the road, the thana in-charge Ratiram Gurjar gossiped with his associates. After about five hours, the Chharch Police Station in-charge got the information and he reached the place. He then made arrangements for transporting the body.
The spot may have been under the jurisdiction of any police station but the police should have got the body lifted and then they could have settled their mutual dispute. This is utter insensitivity. The human rights commission should take cognisance of this.
