State continues to sweat; city temp falls nominally

BHOPAL :  The state continued to sweat on Saturday. For the last fortnight, heat wave has taken the entire state into its grip. Khajuraho recorded 46 degrees Celsius and Gwalior recorded 44.9 degrees Celsius. Panchmarhi recorded 40 degrees Celsius.

Weatherman has forecast dust storms which are expected at isolated places over Sagar, Ujjain, Gwalior, Chambal divisions.

In Bhopal, there was nominal decrease in day temperature but in spite of it, discomfort level was high, posing problems for the citizens. There was no respite from intense heat for the state capital citizens. In afternoon, roads wore a deserted look. Hot wind enhanced the problems.


Bhopal recorded a maximum temperature of 42.8°C which was 3°C above normal while it recorded a minimum temperature of 29°C which was also 3°C above normal. A couple of day, it was 45 degree Celsius.

Indore recorded a maximum temperature of 40.1°C which was 1°C below normal while it recorded a minimum temperature of 26.4°C which was also 1°C above normal.

As per the Meteorological department, heat wave condition will be prevail at isolated places over Sagar, Gwalior, Chambal, and Ujjain divisions and Hoshangabad, Rewa, Shahdol, Raisen, Khandwa, and Khargone districts during the next 24 hours.
