Sonu Nigam adds charm to Bhojpur Utsav



 BHOPAL : Well-known versatile playback singer Sonu Nigam performed on the second-day of the three-day concert ‘Bhojpur Utsav’ in the temple-town of Bhojpur about 28 kms from the city on Tuesday evening.

Sonu Nigam presented many popular numbers including ‘Mera rang de basanti chola’ and ‘Mere haath mein tera haath…’, which were well-received by the audience.

Addressing the audience, he said he was overwhelmed by the huge Shiva temple and expressed his gratefulness to the government of Madhya Pradesh for inviting him to the concert.

The evening was inaugurated by Culture Minister Surendra Patwa. Well-known singer Jyoti Gandhi set the ball rolling by presenting the evergreen “Lag ja gale se phir ye…”.

Nigam began his singing career at the age of four, when he joined his father Agam Kumar Nigam on stage to sing Mohammed Rafi’s song “Kya hua tera wada. His first released song O aasman wale …,’ from movie aaja meri jaan (1992). Rafi Ki Yaadein (1992) is the 1st album of sonu nigam. After this he sang in many films. Nigam’s songs have been featured mainly in Hindi, Kannada, Odiya, Punjabi, and Marathi movies. He has also released Indian pop albums and acted in a number of movies.

Earlier, talking to Media persons at Jehannuma Palace Hotel, Nigam said, “For me every show is a Utsav.

 After reaching here I came to know about the Utsav. That’s why still I am still undecided what I’ll perform in the concert. My association with Bhopal is old. It is very beautiful city. Also, from me   “Right now, I’m working on independent music and an album ‘Crazy’,” the noted singer said.
