BHOPAL: Taking a nose dive, the day temperature dipped to its lowest level of the current season on Saturday, breaking a four- year- old record. Bhopal recorded a maximum temperature of 17.3° C on Saturday, which was 8° C below normal while it recorded a minimum temperature of 12.1° C which was 1° C above normal. On January 14, 2010, the day temperature was 18.2° C. Sheopurkalan recorded 10 degree Celsius which was lowest in the state.
Even in the day time, people were seen huddling around bonfires. The biting cold paralysed normal life in the City of Lakes.Besides, the thick fog which enveloped the city, posed problems for trafficvehicular air and Rail.
Flights were cancelled because of foggy conditions.According to meteorological department, with disappearance of the clouds, the temperature is likely to fall further within next couple of days. The clouds are because of the system created due to south – central Arabian moisture. Within the next couple of days, the clouds will disappear and temperature is expected to fall further and cold condition is likely to deteriorate further.
