BHOPAL : After Delhi High Court putting its seal of approval on the EC decision disqualifying minister for parliamentary affairs Narottam Mishra, a tug-of-war has begun between the opposition and the government.

Meanwhile, Narottam Mishra, not ready to give up, has filed an appeal against the judgment of the single-judge bench before a two-judge bench. The appeal has been admitted and will be heard on Sunday.

The Congress is all set to kick up a big row over the issue in the assembly session beginning from Monday. The party would demand Mishra’s resignation and would try to put the assembly Speaker in the dock. Sensing trouble, speaker Sitasharan Sharma has put the ball in the governor’s court.

Sources said the government would prefer to wait for the decision of the two-judge bench before taking any decision. The BJP’s central and state leaderships are discussing the issue threadbare. The central leadership, as of now, is in a mood to back Mishra and it is Delhi which would decide his fate.
