BHOPAL: The Directorate of Medical Education failed to submit status report on admissions to the Supreme Court on Monday. The Court has extended the deadline to October 25.
On October 3, the Supreme Court had instructed the DME to complete the process of admissions to MBBS and BDS courses in private and government colleges up to October 7. The court has also instructed to submit the admission status report on October 17.
Many organisations and whistle blowers have questioned the offline admission process. It is alleged that in online process, in 32 hours 262 admissions were completed, but in just three hours the DME gave admissions to 468 students in MBBS seats through offline process.
It is alleged that knowingly or unknowingly the DME allowed private colleges to make a quick buck.
The standing council of state government Sourabh Mishra informed that
the court has fixed October 25 as the next date of hearing.
