JD(U) to fight polls in state promising Bihar-like development

BHOPAL : We want to take Madhya Pradesh on Bihar development track where not even single farmer had committed suicide, said Janta Dal (U) national general secretary Akhilesh Kumar here on Saturday.

Interacting with media person, Kumar said that the party will highlight issues related to public grievances in the state. The JDU is an ally of NDA and the party top leader will decide how many seats it will contest in the coming election.

“We won’t be going to people of MP criticising the work of other parties, but we will show what we have done in Bihar,” he said.


“Once upon a time the Mahakoshal, Vindhya region and Bundelkhand region were known for socialist movements. But due to party’s ignorance, we have lost the base in these regions,” the JD(U) leader said.

He claimed that the socialist ideology is against communalism, dynasty politics, casteism and corruption.

In 2014, there was need for a tie-up with RJD in Bihar. However, the situation changed in 2017 and the JDU joined the NDA and formed the government, he said. “JDU leader Nitish Kumar took the decision for the e betterment of Bihar,” he said.

Informing about Sharad Yadav, he stated that the leader had himself left the party and the Election Commission of India has recognised our party as original JD (U).
