BHOPAL : Indo-ASEAN Summit will be held at Bhopal from August 14-19, in which 175 delegates, all below the age of 35 years, will be participating.
Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, PR minister Narottam Mishra said the youth working, among others, in the fields of politics, business, art and media will be attending the meet.
He said that the Summit will have many sessions in which youth issues will be discussed. This Summit, he said, would help improve relations between India and the ASEAN nations. He said that a vision paper on youths will be released at the end of the Summit.
Representatives from ten countries including Cambodia and Vietnam will be participating in the meet, which is being organised by India Foundation in association with the Union and the State governments. The Summit will be inaugurated by chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. MoS for External Affairs Gen VK Singh and Union MoS for sports Vijay Goel will also attend the inaugural function. Governor OP Kohli will conclude the Summit. Minister for external affairs Sushma Swaraj will be chief guest at the function.
Besides ambassadors of four countries, Mitali Raj captain of the Indian women’s cricket team, actor Anupam Kher and MP Poonam Mahajan will attend the Summit.
